Cooking Classes at Elk Creek Vineyards Asian Influences with Chef Vanessa Barnes August 16, 2008 | 3 to 9pm Participants will work with guest chef, Vanessa Barnes, of Blue Fire Fusion, to to prepare a four course meal exploring the cuisine of four Asian cultures, pairing them with Elk Creek Vineyards wines and enjoy eating it together. The class will be limited to 25 participants. Spouses or friends may join the class for the meal portion of the event at an additional price. Participants will purchase their own wines from available Elk Creek Vineyards selections. Lodging accommodations are limited so book early if you want to spend the night. Chef Vanessa Barnes owns and runs Blue Fire Fusion, a personal chef company. She also works in food styling (photo food presentation). She graduated magna cum laude from the Midwestern Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State where she was awarded the Bronze Medal in the ACS Junior Culinarian of the Year Competition. Her broad ranging work in restaurants in the area has led her to be skilled in a variety of cuisines including Vegetarian, New American, Diabetic and Heart Healthy Foods, World Foods and her true passion, Fusion Cuisine.
